Earthquake Disaster Relief Construction Programme in Shree Kamalmanik Primary School, Nuwakot

On June 06, 2015, help to help Nepal with the financial support from German Non- Governmental Organization (NGO) medihimal conducted earthquake disaster relief construction program in Shree Kamalmanik Primary School in Jimnang Village of Betini Village Development Committee (VDC) of Nuwakot district. The program was organized to distribute relief materials, and involve help to help Nepal staffs in constructing the temporary school shelters in order to resume classes in Kamalmanik Primary School, Jimnang, Betini VDC. Following the massive 25 April earthquake disaster of 7.8 Richter Scale, and strong re-occurred aftershock of 7.3 Richter Scale on May 12, Nuwakot district alike in many parts of Nepal experienced prominent damage due to the earthquake disaster. Nuwakot district recorded the death casualties of 1098 and 1051 injured due to the earthquake disaster. The houses fully collapsed counts at 57943 and partial damage at 4201 (MoHA, 2015). The program localized Betini VDC recorded 35 deaths and many houses and schools were destroyed from the extreme earthquake. help to help Nepal earthquake disaster relief construction programme in sponsorship of medihimal, Germany succeeded in constructing temporary school shelters for Kamalmanik Primary School from the corrugated steel sheets in Jimnang Village of Betini VDC in Nuwakot district. The classes were hence resumed following the construction of temporary school shelters in Kamalmanik Primary School.
